Rally from helicopter, plus hospital consultation!
PLEASE HELP US FIGHT THESE PLANS BY DONATING TO HOSPITAL SOS TASKFORCE: We need to raise money in order to fight for our hospital services. In particular organising mass rallies, publicity and legal work for the Judicial Review are all expensive items. Here are three ways to donate to the campaign: 1. Use your credit card to donate money now. We accept all major credit cards or a PayPal payment. 2. Write a cheque to 'Hospital SOS Taskforce' and send it to: Grant Shapps MP, Maynard House, The Common, Hatfield, AL10 0NF.
3. Via bank transfer to the
Hospital SOS Taskforce PLEASE NOTE: Once the Hospital SOS campaign has ended, any remaining funds will be donated to the Vicki Adkins Breast Cancer Unit at the QE2 Hospital. We thank you for your support.
Our Hospital SOS campaign is one of many across the country. See how the campaign is developing in Sussex with this video.
Dear Resident, The recent decision to close all the acute services at the QE2 Hospital will not come as any surprise to a community who have long been fearing the worse. The fact that the process was called a consultation at all brings the whole theory of consulting into disrepute, as everyone knows that the decision had already been taken up front. The fact that in three short years we have gone from being promised a brand new super-hospital in Hatfield when a Government health Minister was then our MP, to having that pledge removed after she lost her seat... to the Government also engineering a situation where we have now lost the major services at our existing QE2 hospital, is all simply unforgivable. No one will ever forget how this happened and how the community has been completely ignored, despite campaigning together with all political parties joining to speak with one voice against the closures. This decision makes a mockery of consultation and ignores democratic representation. People will have to come to their own decisions about how and why we've reached this position.
Yours,
